Take Jeremy & Paula for example. A retired couple from Brisbane. Their house requires some much needed gardening attention. However with Jeremy’s mobility limitations, keeping up with ongoing maintenance has become unrealistic. Paula & Jeremy wish to use their HomeCare Package to fund this service through Sydia HomeCare.
To keep in line with ‘My Aged Care’ and the Australian ‘Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission’, Sydia works with their HomeCare Provider on a subcontracted ‘Associate Provider’ basis to deliver "Light Gardening” services through their government funding. This includes helping with regular lawn mowing, pruning small shrubs and hedges, raking leaves/debris and watering plants.
For all other services that Jeremy requires such as garden bed landscaping projects, pressure washing footpaths and cleaning roof gutters, paying out of pocket can be used to finance the remaining amount that your fund doesn’t cover. Or you can choose to pay the full amount out of pocket if you believe your service isn’t essential according to ‘My AgedCare’.
